What Caden collects, where your video goes, who processes your data, and how to delete it.

Last updated: September 21, 2026.

Caden ("we", "the app") is an iPhone app that analyses running form from a short video. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and how to remove it. Questions and requests go to hello@caden.app.

What we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and sign-in identifier through Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Authentication is handled by Supabase.

Profile answers. During onboarding you tell us your running experience, goal, weekly mileage, injury history, pain areas, focus and reminder preferences. Injury history and pain areas are health-related answers; we use them only to tailor the guidance the app shows you.

Videos and analysis data. For each analysis we store the camera view and direction, the date, the video clip itself, the form score, the metric measurements, and the breakpoint frames at foot strike, midstance and toe-off. Before upload, the app removes the audio track on your phone and exports a video-only copy.

Plans and progress. Your generated plan, which sessions you completed, and when.

Purchases. Your subscription status. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see your card details. Superwall presents the paywall and completes purchases, and RevenueCat observes StoreKit transactions so we can understand subscription performance.

Service data. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request timestamps) for security and debugging.

What we do not collect

  • The audio track never leaves your phone. It is removed before the clip uploads.
  • Precise location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
  • We do not run ads and we do not share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not use your videos or frames to train models.
  • We do not sell your data.

How we use your data

  • To run pose estimation on your clip and return your measurements and score.
  • To show your history, trends and before-and-after comparisons.
  • To build your plan and track the sessions you complete.
  • To operate subscriptions and respond when you contact support.
  • To keep the service secure and debug problems.

Who processes your data

Your data is handled by a small set of processors, each receiving only what it needs:

  • Supabase — accounts, sign-in, and the database that stores your profile, measurements and plans.
  • Cloudflare R2 — private storage for your clips and generated frames. Files are not public; the app reads them through short-lived links that the API issues per request.
  • OpenAI — only when you enable the AI coaching review at upload. It receives your numeric measurements and up to three breakpoint frames to write the coaching note.
  • Apple — sign-in and all payments.
  • Superwall — paywall presentation and purchase completion.
  • RevenueCat — observes StoreKit 2 transactions for subscription analytics. It does not drive the paywall and never sees card details.

Optional AI coaching review

AI coaching is opt-in and asked about separately at each upload. When enabled, uploading sends that run's numeric measurements and up to three breakpoint frames to OpenAI, which writes the plain-language coaching note. The review can adjust the overall score slightly within a fixed bound; it cannot change any measurement. Analysing a clip with the review enabled is your consent for that run only — leave it off and nothing is sent.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept until you delete it.

  • Delete a single analysis by holding its row on the Home tab and choosing Delete analysis, or from the analysis screen. This removes the clip, breakpoint frames, measurements and score. Removal is asynchronous and finishes shortly after.
  • Delete your whole account under Profile → Support → Delete account, or by emailing hello@caden.app. We remove your profile, analyses, plans and stored media.
  • Deleting the app alone does not delete server data.

Your rights

You can see everything we store about your analyses in the app. You can also ask us to:

  • Export a copy of your data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete some or all of your data (or use the in-app controls above).
  • Stop the optional AI processing by leaving it disabled at upload.

If you are in the EU, UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to complain to your local regulator. Email hello@caden.app for any of these.

Children

Caden is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

Clips and frames sit in private cloud storage, reachable only through short-lived signed links. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Account access is checked on every request.

Where data is processed

Our processors run in the United States (Supabase in us-west-2, Cloudflare on its network). By using Caden you understand your data is processed there under the protections described above.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app and the date above will change.
