Terms of use

The terms you agree to when you use Caden — what the app is and is not, subscriptions, your content, and the legal bits.

Last updated: September 21, 2026.

By downloading or using Caden you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Caden is

Caden is a running technique app for iPhone. It measures two-dimensional joint positions from a short video you film and returns experimental measurements, a score, coaching guidance and exercise suggestions.

What Caden is not

Caden is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent injury or illness. Measurements and scores are informational estimates — they can be wrong, and they depend on video quality, lighting and camera angle. Nothing in the app is medical advice.

If you have pain, a recent injury or a health condition, see a qualified clinician before changing how you run or starting the suggested exercises. Stop any exercise that causes pain.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

Your account

Keep your sign-in private and give accurate information. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Subscriptions and payments

Some features need a Pro subscription purchased through the App Store.

  • Prices and the billing period are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically through your Apple ID until cancelled.
  • To cancel, go to iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; no partial refunds from us.
  • Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
  • Refunds follow Apple's policies and are handled by Apple, not us.
  • We may change prices; the App Store will show you the new price before it applies.

Using it safely and fairly

  • Film in a safe place. Do not run into traffic, onto uneven ground, or anywhere unsafe to get a better clip.
  • Only upload video of yourself, or of someone who has agreed to be analysed.
  • Do not upload unlawful or harmful content.
  • Do not copy the app, scrape it, reverse engineer it, or use automated tools to extract its data.

Your content

You own your videos and your results. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit them only as needed to run the service — including sending up to three consented frames to OpenAI when you enable the AI coaching review. Deleting an analysis or your account removes that content as described in the privacy policy.

Our property

We own the app, its design, the analysis engine and its content. These terms do not give you any rights to them beyond using the app as intended.

Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that measurements or coaching will be accurate, that following them will improve your running, or that the service will be uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages — including injuries from changes to your training, lost data, or lost profits — arising from using Caden. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account (Profile → Support → Delete account). We may suspend accounts that abuse the service. The sections about ownership, disclaimers and liability survive termination.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app, and continuing to use Caden after that means you accept the new terms.
