Movaia vs Ochy vs Caden: which video analysis to pick
Movaia is a cheap web upload with a free tier. Ochy is the biggest app with the most metrics. Caden is an iPhone app that builds a plan from your result. Which to pick.
Movaia is the cheapest, Ochy is the most established, and Caden is the one that turns the result into a plan you can follow. Pick Movaia if you want to try a graded analysis for free in a browser. Pick Ochy if you want the longest metric list or you are a coach. Pick Caden if you want to check the verdict on a frame and do something about it over the following weeks. All three are 2D video tools. None can measure force or true pronation.
What each one is
Movaia
Movaia is a web app with no App Store or Google Play listing. You upload a running video in the browser and get a written report with target ranges, plus exercises and, on the paid plan, progress tracking. The vendor says a normal-speed video takes around 5 minutes, and up to 30 minutes with slow-motion and rear-view videos. It markets a "30-day Form Booster" and calls itself "Personalised AI Running Form Analysis" with "no sensors, no lab".
Pricing on the vendor's page at the time of writing: a free tier with 2 limited analyses a month, Pro at about US$2.50 a month billed annually at US$29.94, with unlimited analyses, rear view, exercises and progress tracking, and Coach Pro at US$149 a year for 5 athletes.
Ochy
Ochy is a native app on iOS and Android from a French company founded in 2021. Film, upload, and get a report on pronation, pelvic tilt, overstride, cadence, knee position and flight time, plus exercises. Coach mode and rear view are included. At the time of writing it has 4.5 stars from 286 App Store ratings and 4.6 from 428 on Google Play. The App Store listing shows $19.99 a month, $89.99 to $119.99 a year, and $49.99 for 15 analyses.
Caden
Caden is an iPhone app for iOS 17 or later. You film 5 to 20 seconds from the side, outdoors or on a treadmill. The audio is removed and the clip uploads to private storage under your account, where Caden's servers run the pose estimation. You get a score out of 100, six dials, annotated frames at foot strike, midstance and toe-off, a coach's tip with one cue per metric, and a 4 or 8 week plan you start from the result. It is free to download, with Pro for the full analysis and plan.
What Movaia does well
Price and access. A free tier of 2 analyses a month is the lowest bar to entry in this category. Pro at about US$2.50 a month annually is a fraction of Ochy's App Store price. It runs in a browser, so it works from any phone or computer. The report gives target ranges, so you know what "good" looks like. Its own comparison page criticises Ochy for "generic illustrations instead of your own body" and for being "app-only".
Be clear about what we do not know. We found no user-written reviews of Movaia, because it has no store listing. What we have is the vendor's own page and a few Reddit mentions. One lists Movaia alongside Forma as free options.
Where people get stuck with Movaia
We have no Movaia-specific complaints to quote, so we will not invent any. What we can report is the Reddit view of browser-based AI form tools, from a thread asking whether Movaia and similar tools are useful. The top answers were blunt.
"absolutely not, also your running form is specific to you. there is no one optimal 'running form' that fits every person." Reddit r/running
"Gait analysis, in general, is unnecessary as long as you're not developing any weird pains." Reddit r/running
Those are opinions about the whole category, Caden included. The trade-offs with Movaia are structural. Your video goes to a server, and you wait up to 30 minutes for slow-motion or rear-view clips. There is no native app, so filming, uploading and reading the report are three steps. And there is no frame-by-frame view of your own body against a skeleton.
What Ochy does well
Reach and breadth. It is the most-rated app in the category and the only one with a coach mode people use.
"As a professional running coach, this app allows me to help my athletes make slight changes to their running form" App Store review, 5 stars, US
It reports pronation, pelvic tilt and flight time. Neither Movaia's public description nor Caden offers those. If you want the most numbers, it is the pick.
Where people get stuck with Ochy
Accuracy disputed by people who checked the footage, billing traps, generic exercises and stuck uploads.
"You can see with your eyes that the customer is overpronating or rolling in, yet the software rates it 100% neutral." App Store review, 1 star, GB
"Asking for $60 upfront without knowing if the app works well feels unfair." App Store review, 3 stars, US
"I've waited 10min and it is still on 0%." App Store review, 3 stars, AU

Who should pick which
Pick Movaia if you want to try a graded analysis at no cost, you are on Android or a computer, or you want the cheapest paid plan with unlimited uploads. You accept that the video leaves your device and the wait can be long.
Pick Ochy if you are a coach, you want pronation and pelvic tilt reported, or you value a large user base and a native app on both platforms. You accept that the verdict cannot be checked against a frame and you read the plan screen carefully before paying.
Pick Caden if you have an iPhone, want the frame as evidence, and want a plan with a built-in re-check. You accept six metrics instead of a longer list, and no Android.
Pick a physio instead if something hurts. A video cannot tell you the cause. See gait analysis clinic vs app.
How to switch or try
Film one 15-second side-view clip, phone at hip height, at your easy pace. Upload it to Movaia's free tier, run it in Ochy, and run it in Caden. Compare what each says about where your foot lands. Then look at the foot strike frame in Caden and decide which verdict matches what you see. Keep the one whose plan you will follow. Read free running form analysis.
How to do it in Caden
- Tap Run a new analysis and set up a side-on shot. Film 10 to 20 seconds. See how to film yourself running.
- Read the form score and the six dials. Tap the lowest one for its cue.
- Open Breakpoints and check the Foot strike frame against the foot landing dial.
- Open the Exercises tab and do session 1 of a 4 or 8 week plan.
- Re-film in week 4 and open Before and after in Stats.
FAQ
Is Movaia free?
The vendor's page lists a free tier with 2 limited analyses a month at the time of writing. Pro costs about US$2.50 a month billed annually.
Is Movaia better than Ochy?
It is cheaper and shows your own body in the report, per its own comparison page. Ochy has a native app, more metrics and far more ratings. We found no user reviews of Movaia, so we cannot compare accuracy.
Why is Caden not free like Movaia's free tier?
Caden is free to download. The full analysis and plan need a Pro subscription. The trade is private upload with the audio removed, annotated frames and a 4 or 8 week plan. If you want a one-off check, Movaia's free tier is a fair place to start.
Can any of the three measure pronation?
Ochy says it reports pronation. Caden does not, because pronation is a 3D movement a 2D phone video cannot measure reliably. Movaia's public description does not list it.
